Solar Eclipse Glasses Pickup

9:00 AM - 3:29 PM

Event Details

Are you looking forward to the Total Solar Eclipse next week? While we are not in the direct path of the total eclipse, Bristol residents should see 90% of the sun covered up at 3:29pm on Monday, April 8. The event will last just over 2 hours, with the Sun starting to be partially covered at 2:15pm & back to normal at 4:38pm.

Safety is the number one priority when viewing a solar eclipse. Viewing any part of the partially covered Sun through a camera lens, binoculars, or a telescope without a special-purpose solar filter secured over the front of the optics will instantly cause severe eye injury.

Come get yourself a pair of eclipse sunglasses at the library to take part in this one-in-a-decade event!

Pickup at Main Circulation desk. Max. 1 per person, 2 per family unit. While supplies last.

Once you have watched the eclipse in full, feel free to bring your eclipse glasses back to the library for special recycling.
