The Bristol Municipal Career & Technology Academy (BMCTA) is a government-funded initiative for the students of Bristol/Bristol-Warren public school system to learn about what comes after high school.

This course will offer 7 topics relating to careers in Media & Communication. You will learn about jobs, salaries, and the impact you can make in the community with media & communications. The class will be held in Classroom A136 at Mt. Hope High School from 4-5:30 pm on Wednesdays.

Week 1, Feb 14: Journalism
Week 2, Feb 28: Television
Week 3, Mar 6: Social Media & Content Creation
Week 4, Mar 20: Podcasting & Influencing
Week 5, Mar 27: Public Relations
Week 6, Apr 3: Marketing
Week 7, Apr 10: Advertising

This class will be taught by Dr. Amiee Shelton, Professor of Public Relations at Roger Williams University.

This course is open to students from Mt Hope High School, 8th graders from Kickemuit Middle School and any other Bristol 7-12 graders who may be home schooled or attend private institutions.
